Polysomnography is a risk free, painless, non invasive procedure, used to diagnose sleep related breathing disorders. It mainly investigates for symptoms of sleep apnea, a disease in which breathing is interrupted during the sleep cycle. The symptoms of sleep apnea include:

• Excessive daytime sleepiness
• Snoring
• periods of breath pauses during sleep, which are followed by gasps for air
• frequent episodes of waking up during the night
• restless sleep

The investigation takes place in the sleep lab at Alfa Pneumo Care for at least 4 hours or at the patient’s own place depending on his preference.
